At the time of writing the biggest Draftstars contest for this round is a $75,000 competition for the Western Bulldogs vs. St Kilda on Friday night. Entry costs $15 and the top 25% of participants will receive a payout.
Adelaide vs. Collingwood
Adelaide have lost eight of their last ten games and they have failed to cover the line in their last five home games. Collingwood are on a seven-game winning streak and last week’s close result against North Melbourne should have shaken off any complacency. Collingwood have won five straight against Adelaide and they have covered the line in their last seven fixtures against the Crows. Adelaide have gone 1-4 at home against sides ranked 9th or higher this season and they have gone 1-5 out of the last six times they were the home underdog against the Pies. I would back Collingwood in the head-to-head at 1.56 (bet365, Unibet). Collingwood have yet to win away from home by 40+ points this season and 5 of Adelaide’s 7 home defeats over the last twelve months were by 1-39 points, so those looking for more risk should consider Collingwood 1-39 at 2.20 (PlayUp).
Fremantle vs. Sydney
Fremantle have won 7 of their last 8 at home and they have won 5 of the last 6 as the home favourite against Sydney. The Swans have failed to cover the line in their last two away games – both of which ended in defeat. Sydney also failed to cover the line in their last two away games against Fremantle. I would back Fremantle in the head-to-head at 1.58 (bet365). Seven of Fremantle’s eight home wins over the last twelve months were by 1-39 points and with the data set I have at hand (2013-2022) they have never beaten Sydney by 40+. The Swans haven’t lost by more than 40 points over the last twelve months so those looking for more risk should consider Fremantle 1-39 at 2.20 (PlayUp).
